A joint India-Bangladesh military exercise named ‘Exercise Sampriti-8’ will be conducted today at Bangabandhu Cantonment in Tangail.
“A total of 170 army personnel, including 30 officers of Bangladesh and India, will participate in this exercise which will end on March 15 next,” said an Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) press release here on Friday. The main theme of the exercise this year is “Preparation against Terrorism and Natural Disaster”, it added.
Exercise Sampriti-8 will further enhance the existing good relationship between the armies of the two countries.
The first of this kind of exercise named Sampriti-1 was held at Jorthat, Aassam in India from November 1 to 14, 2010 where an exercise team of 25 members of Bangladesh Army headed by a Lieutenant Colonel participated.
