India A team clinched the three-match one-dayer 2-1 when they defeated touring Bangladesh A team by 75 runs in the third and final one-dayer, according to the Duckworth/Lewis Method at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Sunday.
Electing to bat first, India A team piled up a mammoth 297 for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.
In reply, Bangladesh A team scored six runs for the loss of two wickets in 3.1 overs before the rain disrupted the tourists’ innings.
After the ending of the rain, Bangladesh had a target of 290 runs to win in 46 overs.
Bangladesh scored 141 for the loss of six wickets in 32 overs and then the umpires set a target of 217 runs to win in 32 overs. Thus, Bangladesh A team suffered a 75-run defeat, according to the Duckworth/Lewis Method.
Earlier, India A team composed a massive 96-run victory over Bangladesh A team in the first one-dayer at the same venue on September 16.
Later, Bangladesh A team posted an easy 65-run victory over India A team in the second one-dayer at the same venue on September 18.
Bangladesh A team made a shaky start losing their early three wickets for just 24 runs.
Then Mominul Haque and Liton Kumar Das fought back contributing together 44 runs in the fourth wicket partnership before Liton Kumar Das was caught behind by wicketkeeper SV Samson off Kuldeep Yadav when Bangladesh A team’s score was 68 for the loss of four wickets.
After dismissal of Liton Kumar, Mominul Haque could stay at the crease for a short time as he was caught by DS Kulkarni off Kuldeep Yadav when Bangladesh A team’s total was 77 for the loss of five wickets.
After departure of Mominul Haque, Sabbir Rahman and Nasir Hossain built another notable partnership. They added together 48 runs for the sixth wicket stand before Nasir Hossain was bowled out by KV Sharma when Bangladesh A team’s score was 125 for the loss of six wickets.
Sabbir Rahman remained unbeaten with 41. His 52-ball knock was studded with four fours and a sixer.
Mominul Haque hit a captain’s knock 37. his 50-ball innings was ornamented with three fours and a six.
S Aravind and Kuldeep Yadav bagged a pair of wickets each instead of 14 and 29 runs respectively.
Earlier, India A team lost their first wicket for just five runs.
Pacer Shafiul Islam gave his team early breakthrough as opener MA Agarwal was caught behind by wicket keeper Liton Kumar Das off Shafiul Islam.
Then UB Chand and SV Samson put on together 82 runs for the second wicket stand before UB Chand was bowled out by Arafat Sunny when India A team’s score was 87 for the loss of two wickets.
After removal of Chand, SV Samson and Suresh Raina rescued their team from danger adding together 116 runs for the third wicket partnership before SV Samson was bowled out by pacer Al-Amin Hossain when India’s score was 203 for the loss of three wickets.
Suresh Raina hit a superb 104 from 94 balls featuring nine fours and a sixer while SV Samson notched up a worthy 90 off 99 balls including 10 fours and a sixer.
UB Chand was the other notable run getter for India who scored 41.
Shafiul Islam bagged a pair of wickets at the cost of 56 runs while Nasir Hossain, Al-Amin Hossain, Arafat Sunny and Rubel Hossain took one wicket each for 42, 51, 58 and 59 runs respectively.
