The great Independence and National Day was observed with respect and dignity through various comprehensive programs in Saidpur on Sunday .
The Day was observed through various programmes . The Day started through the placing of floral wreaths at the altar of the Martyrs in their remembrance at Shaheed Smriti Park.
The programmes were started with the hoisting of National Flag at Saidpur Stadium . Acting Chairman of Saidpur Upazila Md Ajmal Hossain Saraker was the Chief Guest of the programme and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abu Saleh Md. Musa Jongi presided over the programme . The Chief Guest inaugurated the programme by flying pigeons and balloons.
Many educational institutions, students, scouts, girls’ guides and different organizations took part in the parade and display. The Chief Guest took salute of the parade.
Bangladesh Railway Saidpur arranged another programme on the day in which Divisional Superintendent (DS), Kudrat-e-Khuda hoisted National Flag and took salute of the parade as the Chief Guest of the Railway programme .
Staff Reporter from Kishoreganj reports: To mark the Independence and National Day, Kishoreganj District Administration, Pourashava together with many political parties including ruling Awami League, Jasad, Ganatantree Party, CPB, Basod, Social and cultural organisations including educational institutions took day- long programmes.
The day’s programme started with heralding of 31 gun salutes and placing of floral wreaths at the central Shaheed Minar at the zero-hours.
A combined march past of the police, Ansar-VDP, Fire Service, BNCC, Scouts, Girls Guides and Student of different school, college, madrashas held at Shahid Syed Nazrul Islam stadium ground in the morning.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Azimuddin Biswas take the salute from the march past attended as chief guest.
The programmes also included hoisting of National Flag atop all government, semi-government, provat and public buildings and institutions, reception to the FFS and screening of documentary films at cinema halls.
A discussion reception to freedom fighters held at local art council hall on Sunday noon with DC Md. Azimuddin Biswas.
Dilara Begum Asma M.P attended as Chief Guest. It was addressed among others by Police Super Md. Gouripur (Mymensingh) says: The Independence Day was observed in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district with much enthusiasm and fresh pledge to build more prosperous and developed country on March 26, 2017.
The beginning of the Independence Day started in the early morning with a 31-gun salute. Upazila AL senior Vice President Dr. Helal Udden and Upazila AL General Secretary Bidhu Bhushan Das on behalf of Freedom Fighter Nazim Uddin Ahmed MP, Ahammed Tayebur Rahman Hiron, Gouripur Upazila Chairman , Margina Akter ,UNO of Gouripur Upazila ; councilors of Gouripur Pourashava and other officials of the upazila administration and the police department placed floral wreaths on the monument Bijoy-71 at Bangabandhu Chattar of the upazila town.
People from all walks of life and activists of political, cultural and professional organisations, institutions and. clubs, such as Gouripur Pourashava, Gouripur Thana, Gouripur Press Club, Gouripur Reporters Club, Gouripur Govt. College, Gouripur Women College, Govt. Technical School and College, Gouripur R.K.Govt. High school, Gouripur Pilot Girls High School, Nurul Amin Khan High School, Chader Hat Agradut Niketon, Govt.Textile Vocational Institute also placed floral wreaths at the monument Bijoy-71 and paid homage to the war heroes.
In the morning, colourful rallies were brought out by different organizations which paraded through the main roads of the town and joined Gouripur playground. Freedom Fighter Nazim Uddin Ahmed MP was a chief guest there and hoisted the national flag. To mark the day, In the afternoon , different kinds of sports and games were held on the Independence Day.
Besides, in the day long, the government and non-government, political and socio-cultural organisations had drawn up elaborate programmes.
The ruling Bangladesh Awami League of Gouripur upazila unit chalked out an elaborate programme to observe the Independence Day. Besides, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Jatiya Party, National Awami Party (NAP) and other political parties and their associate bodies of this upazila drew up various programmes to mark the 47th Independence Day.

Drawing competitions for children on the War of Liberation, charity football match, cultural functions, prize distribution ceremonies and discussion meetings have been arranged on the occasion.
The freedom fighters, family members of martyred freedom fighters and relatives were accorded receptions by Deputy Commissioner Umme Salma Tanzia and Superintendent of Police Suvash Chandra Saha.
Special prayers will be offered at all mosques, temples, pagodas and
churches and improved diets will be served to the inmates of all hospitals, jails, vagabond centers, Shishu Paribar and orphanages.
The district administration has arranged a discussion meeting to be
followed by prize distribution ceremony at Kobi Jasimuddin hall in the town.
LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Engineer Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain will address the discussion as chief guest with DC Ummey Salma Tanzia in the chair.
