The great Independence and National Day has been celebrated in Rangpur with due dignity and through various programs. Divisional Commissioner Md. Abdul Wahab Bhuiyan, City Corporation Mayor Mostafizur Rahmar Mostafa, Rangpur Range DIG Devdas Bhattacharya, Commissioner of Police Md. Abdul Alim Mahmud, Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan, Superintendent of Police Ferdous Ali Chowdhury, District Awami League President Mamtaz Uddin People of all walks of life including representatives of private departments, heroic freedom fighters, people’s representatives, representatives of political, socio-cultural organizations took part in the various functions. The National flag hoisting, parade and display were held at Rangpur Stadium. Divisional Commissioner Md. Abdul Wahab Bhuiyan was present as the chief guest at the ceremony with Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Md. Abdul Alim Mahmud was present as the special guest at the function presided over by DC Md. Asif Ahsan
Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur has celebrated the great Independence and National Day with dignity. Md. Hasibur Rashid and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sarifa Salwa Dina Balloons and Pigeons Fly He inaugurated the colorful procession. The procession went around the entire campus and ended in front of the Independence Monument.
All the departments, offices, residential halls, institutes and various organizations of teachers-students and staff-employees participated in the colorful evening. The Vice-Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor and Treasurer then paid homage to the heroic martyrs of the Great Liberation War at the altar of Independence Memorial. Afterwards, wreaths were presented by various faculties, departments, residential halls, institutes, Begum Rokeya University Teachers’ Association, Officers’ Association, Bangabandhu Parishad, Employees’ Union, teachers, officials, employees and various social and cultural organizations.
Reporter, Kishoreganj says: The 52nd Independence and National Day was celebrated in the country on Saturday, with a renewed pledge to establish a non-communal, prosperous and developed Bangladesh.
In Kishoreganj, the programmes included heralding 31-gun salutes in early hours, singing national anthems, placing wreaths on the monument, grand march and holding discussion meetings.
The national flags were hoisted atop all the public and private buildings in Kishoreganj district in the morning. Receptions were accorded to the freedom fighters (FF) with their family members in 13 upazilas, 8 municipalities of Kishoreganj. Besides, special prayers were also offered in different religious institutions seeking the peace for the souls of the martyrs of the Liberation War. Improved diets were served in different hospitals, jails and orphanages.
Sports, drawing and essay-writing competitions for the children were also arranged on the occasion
DC in Kishoreganj Mohammad Shamim Alam and Sr. Police Super( SP) Mashrukur Rahman Khaled Bpm (Bar) placed wreaths on the Liberation War Monument in the district town.
Later, the DC and SP took salutes from the grand march past participated by Police, Ansar, students in College -Schools, scouts, girls guide on Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Stadium in the town on Saturday morning.
Awami League (AL) organized different programmes at its office in the town, while district president advocate Kamrul Ahasan Shajahan presided over. the reception.
A reception was accorded to the valiant FFs at Art Council hall around 12pm.
Manikganj Correspondent reports: The Independence and National Day is celebrated in Manikganj by laying wreaths and paying homage at Shahid Bedi on Saturday there are various public and private initiatives throughout the day.
On Saturday morning, government and non-government organizations paid their respects with flowers at the Shaheed Minar adjacent to the Government Boys High School ground.
DC Muhammad Abdul Latif on behalf of the district administration started the ceremony by paying homage to the martyrs at 7 am. On behalf of the district police, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Golam Azad Khan, Civil Surgeon Dr. Moazzem Ali Khan Chowdhury, District Sadar Hospital Superintendent Arshad Ullah, Roads and Highways Executive Engineer GauchUlHasanHasanMaruf, SadarUpazila Executive Officer Iqbal Hossain, District Sports Organization General Secretary Sudeb. Saha, Manikganj Press Club President GolamCharwarChanu and General Secretary AtindraChakrabortyBiplob paid homage to their respective organizations in phases. Besides, government and non-government organizations of the district paid floral tributes in memory of the martyrs. From 8.30 am, students-teachers of different educational institutions and leaders of various social organizations gathered to pay their respects to the martyrs.
The martyrs were paid tribute by the district Awami League and district BNP. On the occasion of the day, various day-long arrangements have been made by the district Awami League.
Gazipur Correspondent reports: Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) has celebrated the Great Independence and National Day on Saturday with due dignity and various programs.
The day-long programme included hoisting the national flag at the time of sunrise and awarding guard of honor, laying wreaths at the mural of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, discussion meeting, giving reception to the heroic freedom fighters retired from BARI, cultural programs and award distribution, special munajat and prayers and illuminations. BARI Director General Dr. Debasish Sarker along with other directors started the day’s program by hoisting the national flag with the national anthem and laying wreath at the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of the BARI headquarters in the early morning. At this time the guard of honor was given by the Ansar members.
Later in the afternoon, a discussion meeting on the dignity and significance of Independence Day was held at the Kazi Badruddoza Auditorium of the Institute and a reception was given to the retired freedom fighters from BARI. BARI’s Director (Support & Services) Dr. Md. Kamrul Hasan presided over the function while BARI Director General Dr. Debasish Sarker was present as chief guests. Director (Research) Dr. Md. Tariqul Islam, Director (Planning and Evaluation) Dr. Apurba Kanti Chowdhury, Director (ORC) Dr. Md. Abdul Latif Akand, Director (Training and Communication) Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Director (HRC) Dr. Mossammat Samsunnahar, Director (TCRC) Dr. Sohela Akter were present as special guests. Leaders of the BARI Scientists Association (BARISA), Diploma Krishibid Institution BARI Branch, BARI Employees Welfare Society (BARIKA), BARI Fourth Class Employees Association (BARICHA), BARI Workers Association, were also spoke on the occasion. Scientists, officers, staff, teachers, workers and students of all levels of the institute were present at the occasion.
Sarishabari (Jamalpur) Correspondent reports: A function was organised by Sarishabari Upazila Administration on the occasion of the Independence Day on Saturday. Former state minister for information and broadcasting Dr Murad Hassan MP, upazila chairman FF’s Gias Uddin Pathan , Officials and employees of various department of the upazila administration and freedom fighters were present on the occasion.
The student of the city government primary school attracted the attention the man- made Independent Victory Pillar. Ishwardi (Pabna) Correspondent says: Heroic freedom fighter Alhaj Nuruzzaman Biswas MP has called upon the leaders and workers of all levels of the Awami League to unite against the anti-independence forces on the great Independence Day and National Day.
