Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Army recorded wins in their respective opening match of the Indepencence Day Hockey Competition at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.
In the day’s first match, Bangladesh Navy beat Bangladesh Police by 10-1 goals at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.
Krishna Kumar and Mainul scored three goals each and their teammate Jimmy netted two goals and their colleagues Raman and Imon successfully struck one time each on the board while Lalon pulled off one for the losers.
In the day’s second match, Bangladesh Army blanked Ajax SC by 7-0 goals at the same venue.
Milon, Malek, Shuvo scored two goals each and their teammate Sirajul netted one goals.
Earlier, Head of Marketing of Anjan’s Mahin Ahmed Mojammel inaugurated the hockey meet by releasing the balloons as the chief guest. Vice-President of Bangladesh Hockey Federation Khawja Rahmatullah and Secretary of the Tournament Committee Anvir Adil Khan were present, among others.
