The day-long Independence Day Open Archery Tournament was held at Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi of Gazipur on Friday.
In the Men’s Section, Md Omar Faruque of Bangladesh Army Archery Association bagged gold medal while his teammate Md Salahuddin gained silver medal and their colleague Md Tofazzal Hossain earned bronze medal.
In the Women’s Section, Yeasmin Akhter of Bangladesh Army Archery Association captured gold medal while Pakhi Akhter Kajol of Dhaka Army Archery collected silver medal and Bristy of Bangladesh Ansar earned bronze medal.
After the competition President of Bangladesh Archery Federation and Chief of General Staff of Bangladesh Army Md Mainul Islam distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest. Vice-Presidents of Bangladesh Archery Federation Md Shafiq Anwar, Md Mahfuzur Rahman Siddique, Md Anisur Rahman Dipu and General Secretary of the Federation Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal were present at the time.
