The Modhumoti Bank Independence Cup Football Tournament begins on March 22 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
A total of 12 teams splitting into four groups will participate in the 19-day long football competition.
10 teams from Bangladesh Premier League and two teams from Bangladesh Championship League will take part in the football meet.
Regarding the upcoming football competition, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation House on Monday.
President of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Kazi Md Salahuddin, Senior Vice-President of BFF Abdus Salam Murshedy, General Secretary of BFF Md Abu Nayeem Shohag, Chairman of Modhumoti Bank Limited Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Modhumoti Bank Limited Md Mizanur Rahman, Director of the Bank Ismail Hossain, Deputy Chairman of Professional Football League Committee of BFF Abdur Rahim, Chairman of the Media Committee of BFF Amirul Islam Babu were present at the conference.
Bangladesh Football Federation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Modhumoti Bank Limited, the sponsor of the meet. Kazi Md Salahuddin and Md Mizanur Rahman signed in the MoU on behalf of their respective organization.
Later, a draw ceremony and logo unveiling programme were held at the same venue.
Team BJMC, Soccer Club Feni, Rahmatganj MFS have been billed in Group A, Dhaka Abahani Limited, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, Arambagh Krira Sangha have been taken place in Group B, Shaikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra, Uttar Baridhara Club have been billed in Group C, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, Brothers Union Limited, Chittagong Abahani Limited have been placed in Group D.
