Ishwardi’s son Prof. Dr. Kamrul Islam was awarded the Independence Medal for his contribution to the medical service. On behalf of the people of Ishwardi, Dr. Kamrul Islam, son of Martyred in the war of liberation Aminul Islam was given a reception on behalf of the people of Ishwardi on Wednesday (March 30) night at the auditorium of Bangladesh Sugarcrop Research in Ishwardi.
His mother and wife of the martyr Rahima Begum was the chief guest at that time. Upazila Nirbahi Officer PM Imrul Kayes presided over the function. Conducted by Bobby Sardar, Editor, Daily Uttar Janata. Special guests were Upazila Chairman freedom fighter Naib Ali Biswas and Chief Scientific Officer of Sugarcrop Dr. Kuasha Mahmud.

Dr. Saida Khatun, Principal Ainul Islam, Press Club President Prof Swapan Kumar Kundu, Industries and Merchants Association President Shafiqul Islam Bachchu, Salimpur Chairman Abdul Majid Bablu Malitha, Afshar Ali of Swajan Samabesh.
