A faction of ghat sramik front (terminal workers of lighter vessels) enforced indefinite strike to press home their 9-point demands including wage hike from yesterday morning. Following the strike of the workers , a number lighter vessels came from outer berth now stranded in different ghats inoperative, a sources said. Member secretary of Ghat Gudam Sramik Sangram Committee told the new nation that they launched indefinite strke from the morning .
He said the ghat sramiks lauched movement in 2012 for increasing their wages but their demands yet to be fulfilled. On the other hand, General Secretary of Ghat Sramik Union Abdul Khaleque said all workers are involved with this movement and said partial loading , unloading is being carried out as usual.
