Income Tax Fair begins

A week-long Income Tax Fair began on Wednesday in Kishoreganj district and drew huge response from tax payers much to the delight of the National Board of Revenue.
 Which is expecting revenue more than target. Senior Assistant Commissioner of Kishroeganj District Mehedi Hasan Khandaker who inaugurated the Tax Fair at its office premise, in the town.
Income Tax Bar President Senior Advocate Mahamudul Islam Janu presided over the function while Senior Assistant Commissioner Mehedi Hsan Khandaker attended as chief guest.
Tax-friendly environment must be created assisting the government development works. This year online tax-paying facilities would be a new attraction for the visitors. We collecting income tax returns in both old and new formats. Former Press Club President Adv Ruhul Quddes Selim, TIB Distrct President Saiful Haque Mollah Dulu, CAB Presidnet Alam Sarowar Tito, Advocate Abul Kashem and Tax Consultant Safiqul Islam were also present on the occassion.
Sylhet Correspondent reports: A week-long Income Tax Fair-2016 began for the sixth consecutive time in the Divisional Head-quarters of Sylhet today with the main thrust of establishing bridge between tax officials and taxpayers.
Commissioner’s Office of Sylhet Tax Zone organized the fair at Mohammed Ali Gymnasium with the main focus of inspiring the taxpayers in paying income tax spontaneously, coupled with generating more new taxpayers.
Alhaj Mahmud-Us-Samad Chowdhury MP addressed the opening session as the chief guest and DIG Mizanur Rahman, Additional Police Commissioner SM Rokun Uddin, SCCI Director Salah Uddin Ali Ahmed spoke as special guests.
Income Tax officials will remain present at the fair to provide advice and suggestions on income tax, TIN certificates and assist the tax payers in filling out the Income Tax Return forms. Janata and Sonali banks have set up booths to help the taxpayers in paying their income taxes.
Income Tax Commissioner Sayed Md. Abu Daud gave an overview of the fair and said the taxpayers would get enormously benefited by attending the fair.
The fair would help minimize the existing panic and anxiety among the public in general about tax payment and return submission. He told the meeting that “The target has been surpassed due to continuous efforts to enhance the number of taxpayers,” said Sayed Abu Daud adding that the rate of income tax earning has been growing day by day in the wake of bringing simplicity in the tax realization system, together with building cordial relationship between the tax officials and taxpayers. “We have set a target to realize taxes of Taka 20 crore in the Tax Fair and we are hopeful about attaining the target by the end of the fair,” expected Abu Daud.
