The National Income Tax Day will be observed in the country today (Monday), aiming at creating mass awareness about importance of paying income tax and encourage people to pay it regularly.The slogan for the Income Tax Day 2014 is ‘Boost income tax, bring prosperity to the nation and the people’.A rally will be brought out from the NBR office around 8:00am, and it will parade important city streets near Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Jatiya Press Club, and Secretariat and Bijoy Nagar areas to mark the occasion.Finance Minister AMA Muhith will inaugurate the rally in front of National Board of Revenue at Segunbagicha.Meanwhile, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have issued separate messages on the occasion.In his message, President Hamid applauded the role of income tax in establishing social justice, balanced distribution of resources, and reducing disparity between the rich and the poor.Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in her message, greeted all the taxpayers and the tax officials.
