poem: In a Sraban Day

block
Asit Kumar Mukutmoni :
This misty rainy dawn is dreamy but dull
The gloomy drizzling day is a buried coral,
The yonder Sraban cloud is romantic but gale
Thunder roasted night enfolds the silent veil.
Dhaka’s roads are crowded with traffic jam
The polluted air is toxic and dam,
The gutters are dirt full coupling bad smell
Painful time killing movement is costly’ pale.
The variety birds, silently graved, are no more
The dove’s sweet melody is in deserted door,
Only the crows with swimming wings sore
Are wandering all around the noisy city floor?
My downtrodden eyes enjoy earthy mist,
The scornful laughter greets morning feast,
The scarlet moon, bosom of stars out of sight
But youthful wind kisses the gateway light.
