Imtiaz Hossain’s unbeaten century of 125 runs guided Sylhet to score 236/4 against Rajshahi in the first innings on the first day of the third round tier-2 match National Cricket League (NCL) at Shaheed Chandu Stadium, Bogra on Saturday.
Earlier, in the league second round match, Imtiaz hit a century of 127 runs in the first innings against Barisal Division.
After the first day’s play of the other league matches, Chittagong Division scored 206/2, at stumps, in 57.1 against Barisal Division at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong; Dhaka Division scored 261 for 4, at stumps, in 90 overs against Dhaka Metro at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah while Rangpur Division trailing by 188 runs with 8 wickets in hand in the first innings replying Khulna Division’s meager score of 211/10 in 64.3 overs at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.
Sylhet vs Rajshahi
Favoured by coin Sylhet Division started their innings with bat and scored 236 for 4, at stumps, in 90 overs, riding on the unbeaten 5th wicket stand for 154 runs in 54 overs contributed by opener Imtiaz and Ruman Ahmed.
Imtiaz played a painstaking innings off 285 balls for his unbeaten century of 125 runs involving 11 boundaries and one six while Ruman was on batting scoring 81 runs off 159 balls with 10 fours and one six.
Number three batsman Zakir Hasan (18) was the other double digit scorers for Sylhet.
Moinul Islam bagged two wickets for 44 runs while Sunzamul Islam and Farhad Reza took one wickets each.

Chittagong vs Barisal
In the another tier-2 match, sent in to bat first Chittagong Division scored 206/2, at stumps, in 57.1 against Barisal Division, spurred by dashing opener Tamim Iqbal unbeaten 90 runs.
Besides his individual score, the national opener Tamim built a 98-run in 20.3 overs in the opening stand with Nafees Iqbal and stand with Tasamul Haque for an unbeaten 89 runs in 31.2 overs in the 3rd wicket.
On his way to unbeaten 90, Tamim featured 11 boundaries and one six playing 160 balls while Nafees Iqbal hit 56 runs 58 balls with nine fours and two sixes.
Tasamul Haque was batting on scoring 39 runs off 110 balls with four fours and one six while Mominul Haque (16) was the other contributor for Chittagong.
Al-Amin and Sohag Gazi took one wicket each for Barisal conceding 22 and 50 runs respectively.

Dhaka Div vs Dhaka Metro
Batting first after winning the toss in the tire-1 match, Dhaka Division scored 261 for 4, at stumps, in 90 overs against Dhaka Metro in the first innings on day one.
Raqibul Hasan was batting on scoring team highrst 89 off 154 balls with 10 fours while Nadif Chowdhury was on 37 off 51 balls with two fours and one six.
Raqibul- Nadif paire contributed unbeaten 75 runs in 16.5 overs in the 5th wicket stand.
In the opening stand Abdul Mazid and Jony Talukdar contributed 69 runs in 24.3 overs.
Abdul Mazid scored 66 runs off 68 balls with two fours while Saif Hassan (21), Myshukur Rahaman (20) and Jony Talukdar (20) were the other scorers for the side.
Arafat Sunny grabbed three wickets for 79 runs for Dhaka Metro.
Khulna vs Rangpur
In the another tier-1 match, Rangpur Division trailing by 188 runs with 8 wickets in hand in the first innings replying Khulna Division’s meager score of 211/10 in 64.3 overs in the first innings after the first day’s play.
Khulna Division batted first after winiing the toss and raised the tally with Mehedi Hasan Miraz scoring team highest 63 off 91 balls involving six fours and two fours.
Anamul Haque scored 41-run off 87 balls with four fours and one six while Tushar Imran added 32 runs.
Sanjit Saha and Suhrawadi Shuvo restricted their opponent within an insignificant score grabbing four wickets each for 37 and 81 runs respectively. Tanveer Haider took two wickets for 45 runs.
Rangpur Division opened the first innings on the day and at stumps scoring 23 for 2 in 18 overs.
Naeem Islam and Suhrawadi Shuvo were batting on scoring 5 and 1 runs respectively.
Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Abdur Razzak took one wicket each for 3 and 5 runs respectively for Khulna Division.
