Imrul, Mehedi set up big win for Bangladesh in 2nd warm-up match

A blistering knock by Imrul Kayes and Mehedi Hasan’s all round show enabled Bangladesh to register a massive 134-run victory over Sussex XI in the second warm-up match on the tour of England and Ireland held on Friday at the Central Cricket Ground in Hove.
Batting first Bangladesh piled up a massive total of 314 for 9 from allotted 50 overs. Thanks to brilliant fifties from Imrul Kayes, Mehedi Hasan (60) and Sabbir Ahmed (52). Imrul scored 92 off 78 balls that featured 12 fours and one six, source Tigercricket.com.
J Smith was the most successful bowler for Sussex as he grabbed three Bangladesh’s wickets conceding 53.
Chasing a winning target of 315 runs set by Bangladesh, Sussex XI found the chase stiff and eventually bowled out for 184 in 40.3 overs.
The highlights of Sussex XI innings was Robson’s 49 runs followed by Mahmudullah who chipped away 32 from 42 balls.
Mehedi Hasan was the most successful bowler for Bangladesh as he grabbed three wickets conceding 31.
Earlier, the first practice match was abandoned due to rain at Arundel Castle, Sussex against Duke of Norfolk’s XI. Brief score Bangladesh: 314/9 in 50 overs, Imrul 92, Mehedi 60*, Sabbir 52, J. Smith 3/53, Rawlins 2/54 and Sakande 1/25.
