Opener Imrul Kayes left the city for Sri Lanka on Saturday to take part in the second Test against Sri Lanka which is scheduled to be held at P Sara Oval in Colombo from March 15 to March 19. It is noteworthy that it will be the 100th Test for Bangladesh after getting Test status in June 2000.
Imrul Kayes was not included in the 16-man Bangladesh squad due to injury.
Later, Kayes has recovered from injury and proved his potentiality after showing a gimmick performance in the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), which concluded recently.
Imrul Kayes played for Prime Bank South Zone. In the first match, he got chance to play in one innings. He scored 31 in that innings.
Then he played an eye-catching 136-run innings against Islami Bank East Zone. Kayes made 57 against Walton Central Zone.
So, BCB has recalled him and if everything goes well he will get chance to play in the 100th Test for Bangladesh.
