The Centre for Energy Studies, Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) Japan have been jointly organized a day-long workshop on “Low Carbon Technology Assessment (TA) in Bangladesh” at the seminar room of Accident Research Institute, BUET on Saturday, says a press release.
The objectives of the workshop were to promote low carbon technologies uses in Bangladesh and to create the scope of joint investment projects between Bangladeshi and Japanese investors in low carbon technology areas.
Prof Dr Aminul Hoque, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, BUET was present as the chief guest in the opening session and inaugurated the workshop. Prof Dr Md Mafizur Rahman, Department of Civil Engineering and Prof Dr Md Zahurul Haq, Department of Mechnical Engineering, BUET were present as the special guest in the session. Dr Mustafa Moinuddin, Senior Policy Researcher, IGES delivered the opening remarks. Prof Dr Md Ziaur Rahman Khan, Director, Centre for Energy Studies of BUET delivered the welcome address.
The chief and special guests emphasized on the importance and usage of low carbon technologies in their speech.
