Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman said the government is giving importance to training of teachers to develop efficient and skilled manpower in the country.
“The teachers are the main component to take primary education forward,” he said this on Saturday while speaking as the chief guest at a rally of primary school assistant teachers at Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) auditorium here. The minister advised the teachers to upgrade comparatively less meritorious students through counseling.
The country is progressing and the people’s financial ability is increasing, he said, adding that the government is working to raise facilities of the teachers.
Tax Commissioner (Appeal) SM Jahangir Alam was the special guest while Government Primary School Teachers Association Convener Zahidur Rahman Biswas spoke as the main speaker at the function.
Presided over by Bangladesh Primary Teachers Association Convener Wahidur Rahman, the function was also addressed by teacher leaders Anwar Hossain and Abdul Haque.
The speakers demanded hiking the status of assistant teachers and appreciated the government for implementing the new education policy.
