Import consignment of foreign factories looted

Police recovered hijacked consignment of one Sri Lankan readymade garments factory of the port city on Thursday .
The raw materials consists of cloth rolls and accessories of a Sri Lankan factory named Mass Intimas(BD) Pvt Ltd located at Karnaphuli EPZ in city were imported from India at a cost of 65 US dollars.
 Two hijackers Nurul Islam Khokan and Azad Hossain were rounded up by Bandar thana police . Officer In-Charge of Bandar thana of CMP told that these imported raw materials of the Lankan RMG factory reached at Nimtala Bishwa road in the port city through Benapole Land Port on Thursday early morning . Suddenly a group of persons consists of 6-7 board the covered van and mercilessly beat the driver with lame excuse of reckless driving impersonating as DB policemen and took away the covered van in his custody.
Later, the driver, assistant and an official of C&F agent thrown from the vehicle on gun point . After reporting the matter to the police of Bandar thana in the same morning, a police team conducted raid in Terri bazaar and cinema palace in the city immediately .
 During their raid, police recovered 94 rolls of cloths and a number of accessories cartons from cinema palace area and huge quantities of scattered clothes were also recovered from Terri Bazaar Katapahar lane markets, sources said. After confession of the detained, covered van was recovered from Rowfabad under Baizid thana area .
 Bandar thana OC sources said looted goods almost recovered alongwith covered van . Police is also trying to apprehend others involved with this hijacking as confessed by the detaines, police said.
