A daylong programme styled “Tungipara: Fatherland in Heart” will be held on the premises of Bangabandhu Samadhi Soudha Complex in Tungipara, Gopalganj on March 17 marking the 103rd birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day-2022.
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee in association with Ministry of Women and Children Affairs is going to organise the daylong programme maintaining the health rules due to the Covid-19 pandemic, reports BSS.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to preside over the programme while daughter of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Rehana is also expected to attend the programme, said Chief Coordinator of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury at a press briefing at the International Mother Language Institute in the city’s Segun Bagicha on Monday.
In his speak, Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury said deepest respect and rich tributes will be paid to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman through the ‘Tungipara: Fatherland in Heart’ programme.
The programme will begin with paying homage at the mausoleum of Bangabandhu at 12.30pm. A discussion and cultural function will be held from 2.30pm to 4.40pm.
At the discussion, State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira, Awami League Presidium Member Muhammad Faruk Khan and Awami League Presidium Member Awami League’s Presidium Member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim will deliver speeches on the occasion.
Chief Coordinator of the implementation committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury will deliver the welcome speech.
A folk fair styled “Mujib Borsho Lokojo Mela” will also be held at Government Sheikh Mujib College Field in Tungipara, Gopalganj.
