Law enforcers recovered the throat-slit body of an imam from a mosque of Mallikpara under Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Didarul Islam, 26, from Khulna. He was working as an imam at
Baitul Jalal Jam-e-mosque in Mollikpara area of the upazila. Local sources said that some musullis went to the mosque as they did not listen Fajr Azan in time. But, they found the imam lying dead in the mosque’s veranda.
Being informed, police recovered the body from the spot, said Sonargaon Police Station officer in-charge Maniruzzaman.
