IM Abu Suafian Shakil of Golden Sporting Club earned 5 points after 7th round games and is sharing 3rd position along with other 16 players in the Commonwealth Chess Championship being held now at Waskaduwa in Sri Lanka.
The 7th round games were held Thursday morning and Shakil drew with WGM Kiran Monisha Mohanty of India.
Earlier, in 6th round game on Wednesday, Shakil beat Priyankara Chamil of Sri Lanka. Elegant International Chess Academy has sponsored IM Shakil to participate in the championship.
