Customs Intelligence seized a consignment of illegally imported foreign medicine worth Tk one crore from a passenger flight at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Sunday morning.
The medicine was found after searching two luggages of M Jamal, who arrived at the Dhaka airport by a flight of Tk-0712 from Egypt around 5:00am, said Dr Shahidul Islam, Director General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID).
Tipped off, a team of the Customs intelligence intercepted Jamal when he along with two luggages was crossing green channel around 6:00am, he said.
The seized medicines are Duphaston (12,000 pieces), Mixtard (2,000 pieces), Neoral 25 mg (15,000 pieces), Neoral 50 mg (2,000 pieces) and NovoRapid (250 pieces).
A case has been filed with the police station in this connection.
