Dhaka South City Corporation on Tuesday closed illegal stairs of Mayor Hanif Flyover at Saidabad and Jatrabari points.
Earlier the Appellate Division of Supreme Court upheld the order of High Court in which the directives was given to close the stairs.
The DSCC officials closed those stairs by welding iron rods in the beginning and ending of the stairs to stop people to use that to get on the flyover. DSCC Chief Estate Officer Kamrul Islam Chowdhury and DSCC Executive Officer Md. Mamunur Rashid of Zone-5 led the drives.
“We closed the entry points of those stairs following the orders of High Court,” said Mamunur Rashid.
The High Court on May 31 ordered closure of those stairs within two weeks.
The Supreme Court on Monday rejected an appeal of the Orion Group against the order.
