Illegal gas lines were disconnected by unidentified people while the Titas officials and administration due to start a campaign to cut those lines.
Officials from the Titas gas and Dhaka district administration said that they have not disclosed their plan to take action and to disconnect illegal gas lines in Trimohini area in Khilgaon of the city on Sunday.
But, they found that several illegal gas connections have been disconnected before they have entered the area.
Meanwhile, the male members of those families were not available during the campaign.
Even the landlords and home owners also have been disappeared, Titas gas and district administration officials said.
Dhaka district Executive Magistrate Yasir Arafat led the operation.
The Executive Magistrate said, “We found that there no male members in any families. The females failed to inform us details about the disconnected pipelines.”
Meanwhile, Kazi Moin, Deputy Manager of Titas Gas said, “We have disconnected several illegal pipe lines in the area. Meanwhile many of those have been disconnected by unknown persons.”
He said, “No one has to be informed about our operation before its starting, but somehow they knew that.”
The Deputy Manager said that who have given the connection they may be behind the disconnecting of those illegal pipelines.
He said that they have disconnected about 500 feet illegal pipelines.
They also collected about Tk two lakh as fine, he said.
Those were connected with about 70 houses and in 200 burners.
The residents of the area said there was no gas in last two days in their lines.
One of the housewives said that local youths used to collect money for those illegal connections.
They have given those connections to their burners.
