The Private Hospital Unicare in Saratnagar Bazar of Bhangura Upazila of Pabna has been sealed due to non-updated registration and unsanitary environment on Tuesday
A mobile court headed by UNO and Executive Magistrate Mohammad Nahid Hasan Khan ordered the closure of the hospital. Among others Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Halima Khanam, RMO Dr. Al Amin and SI Murad of Bhangura Thana were present during the the hospital was sealed.
Resident Medical Officer of Upazila Swasthra Complex Dr. Al Amin confirmed the truth of the incident and said,
Pabna Civil Surgeon Dr. Manisar Chowdhury visited Unicare Clinic on Tuesday morning. There he did not see any resident medical officer, unconscious doctor, health worker, lab technician of that clinic. He also found the pathology environment very dirty. Apart from this, the standardized pathologycal test’s reagent were not found.
As a result, the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, Dr. Halima Khanom was ordered to take action as the clinic appeared to be unhealthy and a threat to the service.
UNO Mohammad Nahid Hasan Khan said that the clinic has been temporarily sealed due to the unhealthy environment and not being managed according to the rules.
Md Khairul Islam, proprietor of Unicare, said that despite applying for registration renewal, his clinic was sealed due to non-cooperation of the local health department.
