Noted actor Ilias Kanchan has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award named after Nayak Raj Razzak conferred by The Bengal Film and Television Chamber of Commerce (BFTC). The 7th season of the BFTC Award was held at a programme held at a five-star hotel in Kolkata recently, said a press release.
The award was bestowed on Kanchan in recognition of his contribution to acting in around 350 movies in his career and for the road safety movement.
After receiving the award Ilias Kanchan said, “At the first, I am grateful to the almighty. I believe we are for each other. May the good activities have been done
by me; this is what I pray to almighty. This is recognition of my work. Today I’m honoured with the award which is named after Nayak Raj Razzak. Abdur Razzak loved me so much and he never made me feel less than his child,” said the actor regarding how much he was loved
by Nayak Raj Razzak.
Kanchan also said, “Nayak Raj loved me so much that once he said if anyone could stand in my place it would be Ilias. His children are also acting now, but he didn’t say the same for them. I am glad to accept this honour, which is named after him. This is
a blessing for me.”
Apart from Bangladeshi stars, celebrities from Kolkata were
also present at the event.
