Tabligh Jamaat’s Biswa Ijtema for the year 2020 will be held on January 10, 11 and 12 on the bank of the river Turag in Tongi.
Another phase of the Ijtema, organized Maulana Saad faction, will be held on January 17, 18 and 19 in the same venue.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Religion Affair Minister Advocate Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah have visited Tongi Biswa Ijtema venue on Thursday.
On the eve of the Biswa Ijtema, mainstream of Tablig Jamaat at a press briefing on Thursday urged the government not to allow Saad faction to hold their Ijtema in future in the country, as they are not the real part of the Tabligh.
“We want the government would not give permission to that faction as they are not real part of Tablig Jamaat. Their leader (Maulana Saad) has provoked devotee Muslims delivering anti-Islamic speeches,” said Mahfujul Haque, one of the Seniors (Patrons) of the Tablig in Bangaldesh at the briefing held at a city hotel.
He also said there is no so-called Jubair faction and Saad faction in the Tabligh. Bangladeshi patron Jubair Hasan is one of the mainstream’s patrons in the world.
“There is a mainstream in Tabligh and Saad has created his personal faction, the whole world knows this. But some of the Saad factions are involved in their intentional propaganda remarking the mainstream as ‘Jubair faction’, which is totally wrong, ” said Mahfujul Haque.
He said, “Maulana Saad announced himself the Ameer of the Tabligh without taking any seniors’ views. The other leaders (patrons) of the organisation working worldwide are not aware of it. The patrons did not accept Saad as the Ameer.”
Mahfujul Haque along with other leaders of the mainstream claimers of the Tabligh Jamaat said the lone Biswa Ijtema will be held on January 10, 11 and 12 in Tongi.
Maulana Shahriar Mahmud, Captain (retd) Ishtiak Ahmed and Anisur Rahman, among others, were present at the briefing.
