IIUC’s 4th Convocation heldCU Correspondent

The 4th convocation of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) was held at its permanent campus on Saturday with more than 22859 graduate and postgraduate students taking part.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid presided over the program as representative of President Abdul Hamid, the chancellor of the university.
Prof Mohammad Ali, founding Vice Chancellor of the University and also former Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University, delivered the convocation speech and UGC Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan delivered speech as special guest. Around 36 Students were conferred ‘Chancellor Award’ and 230 Students were conferred ‘ Vice Chancellor award’
The main program began with a colorful procession at 11 am as the campus sported a festive look. The students, wearing their gowns, hoods and mortar boards, took their seats in the auditorium before the representative of president arrival.
Addressing the graduates Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said “Private Universities added new era in our education system. Private Universities play vital role in Economic and Social development. To form an ideal nation, moral education is highly needed. IIUC is providing quality education in combination with moral and ethical education. Everyone should invest his knowledge to form ideal nation what was the dream of father of Nation.”
Vice-Chancellor of IIUC Prof KM Golam Muhiuddin, and Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Delwar Hossen addressed the gathering.
“As our permanent campuses far away from City, we have to face transport problems what is costly as well risky. We have to depend on 70-75 buses every day. We applied to Chittagong Railway Station to launch a Shuttle train for carrying students from Chittagong rail station to Kumira station. We do your attention in this regard.” Vice-Chancellor Prof KM Golam Muhiuddin urged to Education Minister in his speech. Deans of different faculties and institutes and members of Board Trustees were also present on the occasion.
