A new gold medal named ‘IIT Academic Excellence Gold Medal’ has been introduced at the Institute of Information Technology (IIT) of Dhaka University (DU) on Wednesday.
Director of IIT Dr Kazi Muhaymin-Us-Sakib handed over a cheque for Taka 11 lakh to DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr Shahid Akhtar Hossain the Vice-Chancellor’s office to introduce this gold medal. It may be mentioned that this amount has been collected from internal activities of IIT.
Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Prof Dr Rafiqul Islam, Acting Registrar Syed Rezaur Rahman and Faculty members of the IIT were present on this occasion.
Out of the income of this donation, every year two meritorious students, who will secure the first position in BS Honors and MS final examinations from the institute of Information Technology of Dhaka University, will be awarded ‘IIT Academic Excellence Gold Medal.’
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Arefin Siddique thanked the faculty members of IIT for the donation to introduce academic excellence gold medal at Dhaka University. He also hoped that the students of IIT would be benefited and encouraged by this initiative.
