IHF Trophy begins tomorrow

The Islami Bank IHF trophy begins tomorrow at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball.
Marking the upcoming handball meet, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.
Deputy Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association Ashikur Rahman Miku, Chaiman of the Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited Engineer Mustafa Anwar, President of Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul and General Secretary of BHF Asaduzzaman Kohinoor were present at the conference.
The venues are: Bangabandhu National Stadium, Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium and Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium.
A total of seven teams splitting into two groups are taking part in the Men’s Division. Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Maldives have been pencilled in Group A while Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India have been slatted in Group B.
A number of seven teams dividing into two groups are competing in the Women’s Division.
Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka have been billed in Group A while Pakistan, Nepal, Maldives, India have been placed in Group B.
The budget of the tournament has been estimated at Taka one crore thirteen lakh and ninety six thousand while Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, the sponsor of the meet has given Tk twenty five lakh. International Handball Federation (IHF) will provide Taka sixty four lakh ninety six thousand and Bangladesh Handball federation will bear rest of the expenditure from its own fund
