Newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mazar at Tungipara in Gopalganj district Thursday afternoon.
Shahidul Hoque offered fateha and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujibur Rahman.
Senior police officers, deputy commissioner of Gopalganj district and senior government officials were present.
Earlier in the morning, the IGP also placed a wrath
at the portrait of Bangbandhu at Dhanmondi-32.
He also paid tributes to the martyred police members, who sacrificed their lives during the Liberation War in 1971, by placing floral wrath at Rajarbagh Police Memorial Monument in the city.
