Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Md Jabed Patwary said that the intelligence officials could play a vital role towards the country’s development by collecting and providing intelligence information to the government.
“The intelligence officials of the Special Branch (SB) have been playing very important roles in curbing militancy and terrorism and maintaining peace and law and order,” he said this on Monday while inaugurating the newly-constructed own SB Intelligence School in Uttara area.
Chaired by Additional Inspector General of Police (Adi-IGP) of Special Branch Mir Shahidul Islam, the function was attended, among others, by Additional IGP Finance and Development Md Moinur Rahman Chowdhury, Director General (DG) of the Industrial Police Md Abdus Salam and Additional IGP Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) Md Shafiqul Islam.
