IGP inaugurates new office building of Barisal district police

Inspector General of Police Dr. Benazir Ahmed on Monday visited Barishal city and took part in several official programmes.
During the visit, he inaugurated three development projects, including the new office building the district police on the city’s Polytechnic Road. The newly constructed three-storey building of the district police was built at a cost of Tk 7.40 crore.
Barisal City Corporation Mayor Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah, Divisional Commissioner, Police officers from six districts of Barishal Division, including Amitabh Sarkar, DIG Shafiqul Islam, Metro Police Commissioner Shahabuddin Khan, Deputy Commissioner SM Ajior Rahman, RAB-8 Commander Atika Islam, Superintendent of District Police Saiful Islam were present on the occasion.
Later, Dr. Benazir exchanged views with members of different units of the police including 7 districts of Barishal Range and District Police Lines.
In the afternoon, Barisal Police Lines held a meeting with the members of all the units including the police of 6 districts of Barisal, Barisal Metropolitan Police. Earlier, when IGP Dr Benazir Ahmed reached Bangabandhu Udyan at 11:30 am, he was greeted by police officers in Barishal with flowers.
