Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary on Saturday emphasised on strengthening science-based investigation to unearth mystery behind sensational cases.
“The mystery behind sensational cases has to be debunked through investigation based on scientific, cyber, forensic and DNA tests. Real culprits must be identified,'” he said while inaugurating six courses, including 100th Aid to Good Investigation Course, as the chief guest
at the CID Detective Training School (DTS) at Rajarbagh in the capital. The IGP instructed the trainee police officers to investigate cases with highest importance. “Cases must be cracked through proper investigation,” he added.
He urged all to play a professional role in maintaining the dignity of CID.
Chaired by Additional IGP of CID Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, the programme was also addressed by DTS Commandant Md Shahadat Hossain.
Additional IGP (A&O) Dr Md Mainur Rahman Chowdhury, Additional IGP (HRM) Biswas Afzal Hossain, Additional IGP (Finance) Md Shahab Uddin Quraishi and senior police officers were present.
Later, the IGP formally inaugurated the courses.
Earlier, the police chief laid the foundation stone of the new academic building of the training school.
