BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday urged the voters to ignore all threats and fears and to go to polling stations on December 30 to restore democracy in the country.
“Ignore all threats and fears, go to polling centers to franchise your voting rights, defying all obstructions of the government,” Mirza Fakhrul said in a street rally near the Kanchan Bridge in Rupganj Upazila on support of the party’s Narayanganj-1 candidate Kazi Moniruzzaman.
The BNP leader said, “All people of the country and the opposition parties have been united to wage a movement for change with the ‘sheaf of paddy’. In these circumstances, the voters should not be afraid of any threat.”
Mirza Fakhrul urged the voters to vote for Sheaf of Paddy to ensure the freedom of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and the people.
Calling the people owners of the land, Mirza Fakhrul said, “You will have to elect your representatives to run the country to get rid of current autocratic regime.”
BNP Chairperson’s, Adviser Taimur Alam Khondakar, among others, also spoke.
