At least 4000 Musullies take part in Iftar at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque every day, according to Islamic Foundation.
The foundation organizes iftar for the devotees at the National Mosque every year. All classes of people – the rich and the poor sit together and take iftar.
It was found on Tuesday that after the Asr prayers many musillies started to sit in the east side of the national mosque for Magrib prayers.
Afterwards, the mosque’s volunteers asked them to sit in a row. From the main stage, recitation
from the Holy Qur’an and others bayans were going on. On the other hand, distribution of iftar was also going on among the devotees.
At least 10 iftar items, including puffed rice, potato chips, purple, cucumber, date, Sharbat and jelapis were served among the musullies.
Apart from this, Tabligh Jamaat arranges iftar for about 200 people on the north side of the mosque.
And a honey vendor named Habibur Rahman also organises iftar for 50 people in individual initiative.
According to Islamic Foundation, every day it arranges iftar for at least 4000 mosullies.
For this, the foundation has kept the budget of around Tk 90,000 for a day.
People from different classes join the iftar everyday. There is no discrimination between the rich and the poor here. Everyone is sitting together for Iftar.
