IFAD Autos Ltd, country’s one of the leading motor vehicle body manufacturers, is going to build bodies for air suspension air-conditioned (AC) and non-AC buses of Ashok Leyland.
IFAD Group Chairman Iftekhar Ahmed Tipu said this while addressing at the opening ceremony of Ifad AC Luxury and Corporate bus at Bangabandhu International Conference Center recently.
Tipu said an assembly plant is being set up for environment-friendly AC and non-AC buses of Ashok Leyland, an Indian automobile manufacturing company, in Dhamrai of Dhaka.
From next year, luxuries buses will be build there, he hoped.He also hopes to ship 1,000 vehicles in Bangladesh market annually from the assembly plant.
Addressing as chief guest Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader appreciated the initiative of the company to build such kind of modern transport. The government is committed to provide quality and hassle free transport service for the passengers. In this regard, the government is constructing new roads as well as repairing old roads across the country.
Ashok Leyland Senior Vice- President Balachandaran Venkat Subramaniam was also present at the ceremony.
