Former Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University Professor Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury commented that the country will move forward if journalists play a courageous role through their writings.
He made the remarks as the chief guest at a reception hosted to Raozan Mayor Jamir Uddin Parvez on Thursday by Raozan Press Club. Followed by an Iftar Mahfil at Fazlul Kabir Chowdhury Auditorium, he said that the surprise shown by Raozan Municipality in buying indigestible waste will be a precedent in the whole country. It will lead ABM Fazle Chowdhury MP’s model Raozan. If such initiatives are taken all over the country, it will not take long to become a developed country. Raozan Upazila Nirbahi Officer Jonaid Kabir Sohag was the inaugural speaker at the function. The keynote speaker was Mohammad Ali, President of Chittagong Journalists Union. Mayor of Raozan Municipality Jamir Uddin Parvez was the guest of honour. Former President of Raozan Press Club Jahedul Alam presided over the function and former president Tayub Chowdhury gave welcome speech on the occasion. Former General Secretary Gazi Joynal Abedin Jubayer and Member Secretary Anisur Rahman conducted the reception function.
