Chairman of Cricket Operations Committee of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Akram Khan said, ” If coronavirus-condition becomes under control the cricketers will start practice soon.”
He said, ” We have prepared the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium and National Cricket Academy for practice for cricketers of Bangladesh National Cricket team. If the cricketers want to take part in practice sessions all facilities have been prepared.”
A local website informed that the cricketers could start their practice from the last week of July or the first week of August. Besides, several times it was heard that the Tigers would begin practice at the ‘Home of Cricket’ maintaining social distance. The BCB has given the formula how the cricketers would practice at the grounds and gymnasiums. But the cricketers could not start their practice sessions due to coronavirus outbreak.
Meanwhile, Mushfiqur Rahim started his practice sessions individually. He has engaged in jogging, stretching and other activities in a city ground.
Akram Khan said to the newsmen on Tuesday, ” We have not yet formed the exact timeframe. Everything depends on coronavirus situation. If the situation gets development our cricketers will start their practice before Eid-ul-Azha. Otherwise, the players will start their coaching after Eid.”
He said, ” We have no tour before Asia Cup. Asia Cup is scheduled to be held in September. We have a target to prepare our cricketers marking the Asia Cup. All the preparations for practice have been fulfilled. We are waiting for the improvement of the coronavirus situation. If everything goes well our cricketers will begin their practice sessions soon.”
