Business Desk :
The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has said that all transactions on the capital market will continue if banking activities do.
The commission made this announcement to investors on Monday, said a press release.
BSEC said, “If banking activities continue, in the interest of investors, all transactions on the capital market will continue. Investors are requested not to listen to rumours regarding the closing of the stock market.”
The recent surge of Covid-19 cases in Bangladesh has had a negative impact on the stock market, as there is a rumour that trading activities at the bourses might be halted if the government declares a shutdown like last year.
As a result, many investors have been continuously panic-selling their shares to book profits.
However, the indices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange saw marginal growth on Monday, after declining for the previous three consecutive sessions.
