360 new patients hospitalised: IEDCR confirms 81 dengue-related deaths

The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) on Friday confirmed that 81 people had died of dengue since the beginning of this year.
The revelation came on Friday after the IEDCR reviewed 136 out of 231 cases.
Meanwhile, 360 new patients were hospatalised across the country in 24 hours till the morning, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
Of them, 82 were in Dhaka and 278 in other parts of the country, it said.
Currently 1,557 patients are being treated in different hospitals across the country. Of them, 990 are in the capital.
Bangladesh has experienced a massive dengue outbreak this year. But the situation started improving from the beginning of September with relatively low number of new cases reported daily.
Since January, 86,903 people were hospitalised with dengue, most of them in Dhaka. Of them, 85,115 went home after full recovery.
