A drug addicted person on Sunday afternoon allegedly damaged idols of Radaha-Krishna-Sitla temple at Gouhar village under Ratnapur union of Agoiljhara upazila in Barisal district.
Monirul Islam, officer in charge of Agoiljhara police station, acknowledging the facts said police visited the spot on Sunday afternoon.
Till this report no case was lodged and police trying to nab accused drug addict Pannu Bhuiya, son of Sekandar Bhuiya of neighbouring Seral village, the OC told.
Dipali Haldar, wife of Sunil Haldar, said hearing sound of breaking some thing when she advanced to the temple at around 1:30 PM, saw that Pannu Bhuiya coming out from the temple running away.
Then after entering inside the temple she found that idols were damaged and lying on the floor.
She informed other villagers and they informed police, Dipali added.
