Idol producers across Dupchanchia Upazila of Bogra district are passing busy time to prepare them before greatest Hindu religious festival Durga Puja.
They are taking Tk 10,000 to 30000 from each temple for making charge in this season, said clay artisan Umanto Kumar. They have already completed 90 percent of their work, adding that he expects to finish the rest in time for the puja, they added.
“The Hindu community of the upazila has taken some 39 puja mandop to celebrate Durga Puja in this season,” said upazila puja ujjapon Parishad Ramendranath Pddar. He again said, “The festival is coming with deep enjoyment both for Hindus and other cast.”
Durga Puja has started on September 19 with the Mahalaya ceremony. It will begin formally on September 25. The five-day long Sharodiya Utsab will end on September 30 through Bijoya Dashami, said president of Puja Ujjapon committee Dupchanchia upazila unit Asim Kumar Das.
 “Members of the Puja Udjapan Parishad will monitor all the mandaps to ensure that the festival is celebrated peacefully,” said Romendranath Poddar, general secretary of the Dupchanchia upazila Puja Udjapan Parishad.
Officer-in-charge Abdur Razzak said, we have taken tihjt security to ensure peacefull festival for Hindu community in Dupchancha upazila. The names and mobile numbers of police officers will be displayed in every temple, so that if there is a problem, the police can take immediate action, OC added.
Rampal-Mongla Correspondent adds: Like every year , the largest Hindu religious festival Durga Puja will be celebrated in 42 temples in Rampalthis year. Out of the 42 temples three are individual. Among the 42 temples ,Upazila Administration marks 10 temples risky,12 less risky. President of Puja Udjapan Parishad Joydeb Kumar Debnath has said the newsmen that like the previous year, Puja will be celebrated with much zeal and fervor in this year. He also told that with the combination of Upazila Administration and Puja Ujjapan Committee, all preparation has been taken to celebrate the festival. OC of Rampal Thana has said that they are very cautious of the security system and will try their best to avoid unexpected happenings and also expect to end the festival with peace.UNO of Rampal Upazila Tushar Kumar Paul has said that all precautionary measures have been taken to maintain peace and harmony during the Puja. He also told that govt. Officials will supervise and take care of the temples.
