UNB, Dhaka :International Crimes Tribunal-1 will deliver its judgment on Wednesday on detained Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Matiur Rahman Nizami for crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971. ICT-1 Chairman Justice M Enayetur Rahim announced this in presence of prosecution and defense lawyers on Tuesday morning.The tribunal asked the jail authorities to produce accused Nizami before the court by 10 am on Wednesday.Earlier, the announcement of judgment was deferred three times on different grounds.The Jamaat chief has been charged with 16 counts of crimes against humanity including murder, loot, rape, incitement, planning, abetment, and killing intellectuals during the 1971 Liberation War.A former minister during the BNP-Jamaat alliance’s 2001-06 term, Nizami was indicted on May 28, 2012.He was sentenced to death in January this year for his role in the sensational 10-truck arms haul in Chittagong in 2004.
