ICT sets Aug 28 to submit probe report over RP Saha killing

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 on Thursday set August 28 to submit investigation report in the war crimes case lodged over abduction and murder of Kumudini Welfare Trust founder Ranada Prasad Saha and his son Bhabani Prasad Saha in 1971. “On Thursday we submitted report on progress in probe in the case and pleaded for three months time to submit the formal charge. The tribunal set August 28 to file investigation report or formal charge, whichever comes first,” prosecutor Rezia Sultana Chemon told BSS. Mahabubur Rahman, 69, of Boiratiapara village under Mirzaganj upazila in Tangail was shown arrested in the case on September 6, 2016, and is now in jail.
According to sources, philanthropist Ranada Prasad Saha, popularly known as RP Saha, was abducted along with his son Bhabani from the head office of the Kumudini Welfare Trust in Narayanganj and were subsequently killed.
