The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on Sunday finalized its report on probe into the crimes against humanity allegedly committed by nine Mymensingh men including former lawmaker Anisur Rahman Manik.
The other eight accused are Md Mokhlesur Rahman Mukul, 65, Md Saidur Rahman Ratan, 56, Shamsul Haque Bacchu, 70, Shamsul Haque Fokir, 75, Nurul Haque Fokir, 70, Sultan Fokir alias Sultan Mahmud, 58, ABM Mufazzal Hossain, 70, and Nakib Hossain Adil, 65.
“We have brought four specific charges including murder and torture against the nine. Of the accused, only two are behind bars now,” investigation agency coordinator Mohammad Abdul Hannan Khan said.
Head of the probe body made the revelation at a press briefing held at his
agency’s Dhanmondi office here. Khan said we will hand over the report to the
prosecution of the ICT soon.
