ICT investigation agency finalises probe report against 3

The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal has finalised reports on investigation into the alleged crimes against humanity committed by Mahidur Rahman, Afsar Hossain Chutu and Forkan Mallik during the War of Liberation.
Abdul Hannan Khan, chief investigator and coordinator of the agency told these to the newsmen at a press briefing held at its Dhanmandi office here on Monday.
Khan having the status of Inspector General of Police said they are bringing three charges against Mahidur Rahman, 84, and Afsar Hossain Chutu, 65, both from Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj. “A total of 24 prosecution witnesses will testify in the case against the duo. We had launched our probe against them on February 11 and completed a 956-page final report,” said Khan.
The ICT-2 on September 23 had set November 2 for submitting progress report on investigation, rejecting a plea of the prosecution to show them arrested under ICT act.
Meanwhile, the probe body has brought five charges of crimes against humanity against Forkan Mallik, an alleged Razakar leader from village Choilabunia under Mirzaganj upazila of Patuakhali.
