The digitised information and communication technology (ICT) have created enormous opportunity for youths and young generations in earning huge foreign exchange through outsourcing to accelerate national uplift.
State Minister for Post Telecommunications & Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said this while addressing certificate distribution ceremony arranged this afternoon at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room in Panchagarh town as the chief guest.
“The district of Panchagarh will be brought under board band internet service by June next to increase internet speed in the district for easier operation of the online activities using internet facilities,” he said.
The ceremony was arranged for distribution of certificates among 20 unemployed and young educated women of Panchagarh Sadar union after completion of their forthright-long training course on ‘Basic ICT Literacy for Women’ in the first phase.
Bangladesh Institute of Management (BIM) and IBBS Primex Software (Bangladesh) Ltd organised the training course with assistance of the Department of Information and ICT of the Ministry of Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology.
Members of the Parliament Nurul Islam Shujan (Panchagarh-2) and Nazmul Hoque Prodhan (Panchagarh-1), Peoples Perspective Specialist of the A2I Programme of the Prime Minister’s Office Md. Naimuzzaman Mukta addressed as the special guests.
Deputy Commissioner of Panchagarh Mohammad Salahuddin presided over the function attended by government officials, participant women of the training course, IT and ICT experts, public representatives, civil society members and local elite.
The speakers said a total of 55,000 unemployed and young educated women from all over the country will be provided with the forthright-long course on ‘Basic ICT Literacy for Women’ by June next under the programme to turn them into skilled workforces.
Highlighting tremendous success already achieved in the ICT sector and digitisation, the State Minister stressed for producing more skilled human resources on IT and ICT to further accelerate national uplift in building middle income Bangladesh by 2021.
