The 5th National Digital Bangladesh Day was observed in Khulna on Sunday through holding various programmes aiming to educate the people on ICT-based services to build a technologically-advanced country.
Khulna District Administration and ICT Division have chalked out day-long programmes marking the day.
Along with bringing out colourful processions, discussions, seminars, distribution of prize among students, online presentation on Digital Bangladesh, essay, painting and quiz competitions were held at Deputy Commissioner’s Office here.
Divisional Commissioner Md Ismail Hossain addressed the meeting as the chief guest with deputy commissioner (DC) Md Moniruzzaman Talukder in the chair Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Md. Sadekur Rahman delivered the welcome speech while associate prof of development studies discipline of Khulna University prof Kazi Humayun Kabir presented keynote paper.
Among others, professor Dr Pintu Chandra Shil of computer science department of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Khulna Press Club President SM Zahid Hossain, additional superintendent of police (ASP) Sushanta Sarkar, chief executive officer of Khulna Zila Parishad Md Asaduzzaman, spoke on the occasion.
Baraigram (Natore) Correspondent reports : Digital Bangladesh Day was obsereved on Sunday at Baraigram in Natore with wreath-laying at Bangabandhu’s mural, colorful rallies and discussion meeting. Upazila administration and ICT department jointly organized it. On the occasion, a discussion meeting was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium.
It was presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mariam Khatun and Former Minister Prof Abdul Quddus MP addressed the meetin as the chief guest. Upazila Chairman Dr.Siddiqur Rahman Patwary, Bonpara Municipal Mayor KM Zakir Hossain spoke as a special guest. Also, it was addressed among others Upazila Agriculture Officer Sharmin Sultana, ICT Officer Abdur Rahman Anshari, Principal Abdur Razzak Mollah, Upazila Awami League President Abdul Quddus Miaji and others.
Tarash (Sirajganj) Correspondent adds: Rallies, discussion meetings and prize distribution programmes were held on the occasion of the National Bangladesh Digital Day in Tarash, Sirajganj on Sunda. These programs were organized by the Upazila Administration in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communication Technology.
On the occasion , UNO Mezbaul Karim led a rally that started from the upazila premises and paraded various roads of the city. Later, a discussion meeting and prizes were distributed in the Upazila Parishad Hall on the occasion of this day.
