ICT based-innovative ideas were displayed at a function as part of promoting digitization campaign aiming to ensure smooth public services with a short time at upazila and district level offices.
The innovations were showcased at the day-long showcasing function held on Thursday at the Shilpakala Academy in the city.
Cabinet Division organized the innovation showcasing programme.
Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam, Chief coordinator of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Md Abul Kalam Azad and Senior Secretary of the Land Ministry Mezbah Ul Alam, among others, addressed the function with Secretary (coordination and reform) of Cabinet Division NM Ziaul Alam in the chair.
Shafiul Alam said practices of innovation showcasing should be increased to promote digitization campaign, which ultimate would help achieve the targets of SDG.
ICT-based innovative ideas will significantly contribute to reach public services at the doorsteps of the common people, he added.
A total of 13 stalls were set up at the innovation showcasing programme, where 16 innovative ideas of country’s eight divisions were displayed.
At the function, two districts were branded displaying famous locally produced handicraft and food items, attractive tourist spots and archeological sites and cultural heritages.
Officials, who represented their respective stalls, said ICT-based innovative ideas were developed to make different public services available for the people.
Jiban Biswas, an official of UNO office at Keraniganj upazila, said a one-stop service centre and knowledge desk has been set up at Keraniganj upazila to make all services paperless.
The people of the upazila can seek any public services through using the one-stop service centre and knowledge desk free of cost, he added.
